The Implementation Support Mission of ARAP Conducts

The implementation support mission of Afghanistan Rural Access Project (ARAP) conducted by NRAP officials and World Bank delegates at Public Works Ministry on 21 November 2017.

At the commencement of the mission Mujeeb Ahmad Hakimi the acting national Coordinator at national coordination unit officially inaugurate the meeting and said that this is a good opportunity for evaluating past performance and find out solution for existing challenges.

Afterword Mr.Nimatullah Haidari finance and deputy minister of Public Works ministry during his speech said that National Rural Access Program is one of the significant programs of afghan government which provides countless services to rural people of the country.

He added that the Afghan government is trying to strengthen the program to continue its work effectively.

Then Mr. Luquan Tian task team leader of ARAP project in World Bank said that National Rural Access Program is a national asset and performed important activities in the country although these activities are not enough and he asked for more efforts through this program.

Later on Eng. Mohammad Naser Temory the executive director of NRAP/MRRD talked about existent strategic challenges of the program and asked for constructive suggestions and comments of steering committee of the program.

In the following, Mr. Mujeeb Hakimi presented the activities, achievements, challenges and general demands of the program through a comprehensive presentation respectivelythe activities, achievements and the problems of both PIUs presented by representatives of  NRAP/MRRD & NRAP/MoPW.

It is worth mentioning that the World Bank’s implementation support mission of Afghanistan Rural Access is being launched every six months, in which World Bank officials make the suggestions and adjustments needed for better implementation and improvement of program activities.
