NRAP/MRRD Signs Contracts for 6 Construction Projects worth 641 million AFN

Mr.Mujeeb Rahman Karimi the acting minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Ministry signed contracts for the constructions of six road project worth more than 641.4 million AFN with private construction companies on 21 November 2017.

At the press conference which has been held for this purpose, Mujeeb Rahman Karimi, said that these projects would include the asphalt of 40 km road, 17.5 km reconstruction of  Gravel road and construction of 154 meter bridge in Hirat,Parwan,Kapisa and Farayab  Provinces.

Mr.Karimi also gave brief information about the achievements of the program and said that NRAP/MRRD   during 1396 constructed about 560 km of rural roads and one thousand and one hundred fifteen (1115) Rm bridges were built and four thousand km (4000 km) road in 34 different provinces are under maintenance.

Likewise Qazi Nazir Ahmed Hanif representative of the Herat People in Wolesi Jirga, thanked the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development for improving the lives of the people and added that the projects that will implement are for the nation and we hope that projects should be implemented in a good manner to eliminate the problems that our rural people are suffering from.

According to head of MRRD, implementation of these projects will generate about 188,000 working days of job. The cost of these projects (461,437,300) AFN will be paid from the government’s development budget and the World Bank’s grant.
